Power and Performance |
The Spectra5 is fitted with variable valve timing and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 138 hp (132 hp in SULEV). A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, and an automatic is optional. The Spectra5 hatchback gets sport-tuned suspension with 16-inch wheels. Fuel efficiency with the 5-speed manual is 23/30 mpg (city/highway) and it is 24/32 mpg (city/highway) with the 4-speed automatic.

Body and Styling |
The Spectra5 has stylish looks, aerodynamic spoilers, side trims, front fog lights, metal pedals, a roof-mounted antenna, and 16" alloy wheels. Though similar in appearance to the Spectra sedan, the Spectra5 has a more athletic profile, a rear lift hatch, and a 6-inch longer wheelbase. The Spectra sedan can seat five people, and has a folding backseat that can increase trunk capacity to18.3 cubic feet. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob plus metal pedals are standard. |

The Spectra5 has earned Five Star Safety rating in frontal driver and passenger crash tests, from the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) and comes with a comprehensive 10 year/100,000 mile warranty program. Safety features include a tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), airbag and seat-belt latch sensors, dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, side impact door beams, rear child-safety door locks, crumple zones, anchors for children (latch), and an energy-absorbing steering column. |
